Join the Fairfax County Department of Family Services Adult and Aging Division, The Clowder Group and the Virginia Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services to watch two thought-provoking documentaries, All the Lonely People and Heroes of Adult Protection – Fred’s Neighborhood. Each documentary tells the story of older adults facing challenges such as social isolation and adult abuse. A panel discussion with the filmmakers and state leaders will take place after viewing the films.

All the Lonely People
All The Lonely People is a social impact documentary that tells the story of the growing epidemic of chronic loneliness and social isolation being experienced worldwide. Through the eyes of a diverse group of people, the film explores the struggles and impacts of this epidemic. It presents unique solutions and community programs that are helping to reduce isolation and build community.

Heroes of Adult Protection - Fred’s Neighborhood
Fred's Neighborhood is episode three of a multi-part series highlighting victims of adult abuse.  This episode tells the story of Fred, an older man with an intellectual disability, who was financially exploited by his trustee. As a result, Fred is facing life-threatening health issues, financial distress, and emotional upheaval due to the abuse.

This event is FREE and open to the public. Registration will open soon. Questions? Please contact Ines Boisrond at 704-324-9526 or Ines.Boisrond@fairfaxcounty.gov.
