Arbor Day is every day! In this program (25 to 45 minutes), students (Pre-K through 5th grade) learn the benefits trees provide to the environment and people. Students will learn simple measures they can take to protect trees. Activities include:
There are exotic plants and animals from all over the world taking over our environment. This program (25 to 45 minutes) reviews the difference between native and invasive species. Students (third to seventh grade) will understand the qualities that make invasive species destructive. Students will discuss ways to remove invasive species and prevent new species from invading our landscape.

There is no greater investment we can make for the environment and our community than planting a tree. Urban foresters can assist in planting trees at your school as well as providing supporting information to your students about the value of trees. This program is appropriate for all grades and runs 1-3 hours depending on your needs. The Urban and Community Forestry Division may be able to fund the purchase of the trees.
